Tasmanian born and bred, Rob gets his footwork from his formative years in Irish dancing. He graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2012 with a BA in Music Theatre. During his last year at WAAPA, Rob appeared in a docu-drama for the BBC, Desert Rats, and a telemovie for ABC 1, The Accidental Soldier. Immediately after graduating, Rob appeared in a guest role on House Husbands for the Nine Network/Playmaker media, before joining the national tour of Hot Shoe Shuffle, directed by David Atkins, in the role of Buck.
In 2013 Rob also performed in A Cole Porter Celebration for Sydney Philharmonia Choirs as a lead vocalist, and during that same year was named a top six finalist in the Rob Guest Endowment. Following that, he featured in a guest role on Winners & Losers for the Seven Network, and in 2014/15 performed in the national, two-year tour of Cameron Mackintosh’s Les Misérables, directed by Lawrence Connor and James Powell, covering the role of Marius.
In 2016/17 he returned to the stage as part of the Ensemble/Don cover in the national tour and Japan season of Dainty Group’s Singin’ In The Rain, directed by Jonathan Church. In 2017, Rob most recently appeared as The Boy in critically acclaimed two hander production of The Events for Blue Cow Theatre in Tasmania, directed by Robert Jarman.
